Current Student Resources

UBC maintains several student websites with information regarding financial aid, scholarship opportunities, housing and accommodation, student health, and job opportunities.

Undergraduate Resources

Student loans

For student loan eligibility, students are required to be registered in a specific number of credits, which varies by program. Information can be found on this page. Students in Year 3, 4 and 5 are eligible for student loans and are encouraged to contact their ESP directly.

Bursaries

See the UBC Bursary Program page for information about how to apply.

Scholarships and Awards

See the Scholarships and Awards for Current Students page for more information on the scholarship opportunities.

Annual Integrated Dietetics Program Administration Fee

In addition to course tuition, students in the Dietetics Major are charged an annual integrated Dietetics Program administration fee each year they are in the program, as listed here. This fee covers administrative costs associated with the program having a fully-integrated practice education model.

Refer to the UBC Student Housing and Hospitality Services website for more information about housing on campus and the Living Off Campus page for tips on finding housing off campus.

Student Services offers a variety of services to help you access crisis support, lifestyle information, and professional services.

Graduate Student Resources

Student Loans

Students in Years 1 & 2 of the MND are eligible for student loans and are encouraged to contact the ESAs directly.

Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards

See the G+PS funding page for more information on scholarship opportunities. Note that most course-based graduate programs, including the MND, do not qualify for research-oriented scholarships and awards.

Check back in spring 2023 for more information on program-specific bursaries, which will be related to practice education.

Working during the MND

The MND is a full-time program, and requires student to move outside the Lower Mainland for at least two Practice Education experiences. Students are encouraged to be mindful of the impacts that any part-time work responsibilities can have on their studies and to plan accordingly.

Part-time employment opportunities on campus include:

  1. Jobs at various UBC services: Learn more about on-campus jobs
  2. Research Assistant and Work-Learn positions: Check the UBC Jobs Listing for available positions
  3. Teaching Assistantships: positions will be released on the TA App website in the mid-spring for the following Winter terms 1 and 2 (must sign onto UBC network to access website)

Relevant off-campus jobs could include casual roles in dietary services in regional health authorities: Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health, Fraser Health, or BC Women's and Children's Hospital (PHSA).

See Student Volunteer and Paid Opportunities for more ideas (note: that page is Undergraduate- focused)
